Danny Hoey, Co-President

Danny M. Hoey, Jr., is a doctoral student in Creative Writing. He recieved his BA from The Ohio State University and MA degrees from SUNY
Albany and Long Island University. His work has appeared in African Voices and WarpLand: A Journal of African American Literature and
Criticism
. He is a volunteer mentor with Big Brothers Big Sisters and the Multicultural Center at UNT.

Karen Williams, Co-President

Karen Williams is in her final year of course work for a Ph.D. in English with a focus in African-American literature. She began studying at Kirkwood Community College where she received an Associate's Degree in Liberal Arts before proceeding to the University of Iowa where she received a double-major BA in English and Theater. Before coming to UNT, she studied in the graduate program at the State University of New York in Potsdam with a focus in English and Communications. In addition to teaching, in the future she intends to study Veterinary Science with a long-term goal of operating a sanctuary for special needs dogs.

Jessica Oxendine, Vice-President

Jessica Oxendine received her BA from George Mason University in 2004. She currently pursues her PhD in Early Modern Literature at UNT, focusing on Renaissance Drama. Jessica will be attending the 2008 Shakespeare Association of America conference where she will present a paper in a seminar. Jessica has worked as a tutor in the UNT Writing Lab, and she has recently begun teaching composition courses at UNT while also working as an academic assistant in undergraduate Shakespeare survey sections.
