About My Topic Greetings parents!!! The 2nd grade is a crucial time in the life of your child. As your child's reading teacher I will focus a lot on reading, phonics, writing, and grammar. During the year your child will read numerous books, give class presentations on what they learned, post their findings on their own web page, and be fully prepared to pass the TAKS when moving on to the 3rd grade. It is imperative that I have your support. This page is designed for supplemental learning at home because I want to give the students all available opportunities to learn. You will be able to look at reading lists we will be using in my class, the phonics/grammar program I use, and a site where you child can post their book reports and creative writing on-line. I look forward to a successful year and I thank you for your support. About Me My name is Christina Turner and I am a sophomore at the University of North Texas. My major is Elementary Education (EC-4, ESL certification). I will be graduating in 2008 and I hope to teach in the DFW Metroplex Area.
