Government Documents
University of North Texas Libraries
My position concentrates primarily on the Government Document Department’s digital initiatives, including the Congressional Research Service Reports Archive and the CyberCemetery. I work closely with the Digital Projects Unit and also participate in departmental reference activities. You can read more details about my current position under Experience: Positions.
I am excited about the technological aspect of librarianship. I enjoy web development and digitization projects, and am passionate about library support for distance learning. My experience working at the Center for Distributed Learning, as well as my personal experience as a distance-learning student, have given me insight into online student information needs. Originally, my long-term career goal was to become an Art Reference Librarian at an academic library. My strong background in the general humanities and specifically in art history, in concert with my MLS, would prepare me to move toward such a role. However, the more I explore digital librarianship (in all the various facets which that phrase implies), the more I am convinced that I wish to remain in a position that deals deeply with technology. The context of that technology may be reference service, digital collections, or web development--I'm open to a world of possibilities.
