Purpose of Site: VSA arts as Texas aims to promote opportunities for persons with disabilities to have access to the arts.
Recommended Sections: In “About” section, navigate to Programs. Once there, check out Follow the Dream, a statewide call for art from students with disabilities. Also, Arts in Learning gives information on a new program, Texas Artists as Teachers. This program aims to bring artists of all abilities into classrooms to work with students. Another notable program are Mini-Grants, which provide the services of an artist in residence for students in self-contained settings. In the “Gallery” section, you can view the work of Texas Artists with Disabilities. Check the web site often, as information on training sessions for Express Diversity and Start with the Arts is forthcoming. the Texas Artists as Teacher should be available.
